Ultra-Fast Charging Comes to Hamburg

Munich, 10 May 2022 – In partnership with EG Group (Eurogarages), ESSO and ADS-TEC Energy, JOLT is launching its first ultra-fast charging service in Hamburg.

JOLT is deploying a new generation of chargers developed and manufactured in Germany by ADS-TEC Energy, capable of adding 100 km of range in five minutes. “Thanks to advanced buffering technology, these chargers enable ultra-fast charging in areas that would normally be unsuitable due to grid limitations,” says Thomas Speidel, Managing Director of ADS-TEC. “This will ensure that drivers have more convenient and less time-consuming charging options in the future.”

For this launch, JOLT has partnered with EG Group, which operates around 1,000 ESSO stations in Germany and more than 6,300 sites in the US, UK, Ireland, continental Europe and Australia. These stations are increasingly being upgraded to give drivers a first-class customer experience, with appealing food, snack and drink options and now ultra-fast EV charging too. “Working with JOLT underscores our commitment to meeting our customers' needs and our efforts to support sustainable mobility. More locations will follow the Hamburg site over the summer as JOLT brings ultra-fast charging to many of Germany's largest cities.
