Open day for press and visitors by JOLT in cooperation with EG

Munich, 3 September 2021 – JOLT and EG are delighted to present ultra-fast charging and JOLT's unique “Mobile Swap Charging System” to the public in Munich during the first three days of the IAA.

The Jolt Energy Group is a group based in Dublin, Munich and Boston, founded in 2017 by a team of former automotive and energy technology executives with the aim of challenging traditional conventions for urban charging.

JOLT has made it its mission to build a network of high-power chargers in major cities over the next ten years. JOLT uses advanced mobile charging stations with integrated batteries to compensate for weaknesses in the existing power grid. In some cases, that means operating charging stations like portable battery packs on city streets and swapping them for freshly charged units when they are depleted.

IAA Mobility is the world's largest showcase of mobility concepts that point the way to an emissions-free future. High-performance, flexible charging is the urban solution. Although 72 percent of EU citizens live and work in cities and suburbs, there is not enough electricity or enough charging stations to meet their needs.

A demonstration is available daily from 2 to 6 p.m. on 7–9 September.

A JOLT employee and our CEO Maurice Neligan will explain the swap-charging system over coffee and snacks and give you all the relevant information about the further expansion of JOLT's fast-charging network in cities across Europe and the US.

We will also be present at the Bayern Design stand in the Kaiserhof of the Munich Residenz, part of the Open Space in Munich's city centre. The exhibition ‘Open minded to new visions’ shows how good design and new technology, with agility, openness and visionary energy, can work together to develop, shape and bring innovative forms of mobility to life.
