JOLT is introducing a real mobile charging-solution for motor sports, automakers and event management underscoring our commitment to enabling e-mobility through flexible charging solutions.
Mobile Charging Truck
Our new high-power charging trucks will come into service in late 2020. They were developed and built by our partner ads-tec Energy in Germany. With the ability to high-power charge at 320 kW (920 volts), it is the most powerful charging solution in the world. Each truck can charge 10 e-cars up to 320 kW at the same time. It acts like a charging-park in one compact mobile unit.
JOLT will rent the units (www.charger-rental.com) to motor-sports teams for charging their next generation e-racing cars. Importantly, JOLT will provide mobile charging to automakers for winter, summer and alpine endurance testing. Strong initial interest from customers means JOLT is taking reservations up to 2023 and considering growing the fleet and extending to other markets.
Charging remains the biggest obstacle to the success of e-mobility. This extension of JOLT’s business activities complements our existing urban charging business and strengthens our mission to enable e-mobility through creative, flexible charging solutions.
Deploying the charging-truck almost anywhere is possible due to a 2MWh on-board battery storage. Allowing JOLT to bring high-power charging where basic electrical infrastructure is missing. In addition, JOLT makes it even more attractive by providing customers with a full-service solution. This service includes site evaluation, logistics, electrical and on-site technical support. JOLT takes care of everything.
“Getting power to e-cars in remote or even rural sites is a challenge faced by many automotive and motor-sporting groups”, says Maurice Neligan, JOLT’s CEO. “Our charging-truck changes the game, introducing real mobile charging to places where it wasn’t possible before”.
For automakers launching new e-cars, the ability to undertake e-car testing and press events is key. “We hope this new addition to our portfolio brings e-mobility another step closer. After all, we need to provide a better world for our kids and future generations”, says Neligan.
